We are proud to present ACE
Women in STEM event, the first of its kind and part of the ACE Mentorship Program
event series. This event will feature a moderated panel discussion between
distinguished and experienced women working in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math.
During the evening, our panelists will be highlighting their
career paths with an emphasis on success/ difficulties that women face in these
science-based industries. The event offers great opportunity to get career
insights to any young women who are currently studying or aim to enter any of
these fields in the future.


Meet the Panelists

Arla Kasaj

A Naturopathic Doctor and a registered Acupuncturist working full time in Belmont Village in Kitchener and part-time in Toronto. Graduated from McMaster University, with a degree in Science Kinesiology, Arla enjoys teaching in her community and has a special interest in medical product development. Read Full Bio Here

Cezarina Kora

A leader in issues of technology and information gaps on integrated pest management (IPM), Cezarina has represented AAFC, as part of the Canadian delegation in OECD’s Expert Group on IPM. A winner of AAFC’s Science Achievement Award for developing an alternative disease management technology that avoids pesticide use. Read Full Bio Here

Elda Topuzi

In addition to all her academic and professional achievements, Elda is invested in promoting inclusion and equity by providing support to women who are considering a career in engineering as part of the Women in Engineering program, as well as providing outreach to women in STEM through job shadowing programs.Read Full Bio Here 

Entela Zaffino

With over 10 years of experience across Ontario’s healthcare sector, Entela is currently a Project Manager with the Strategy, Integration and Planning team at the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (MHLHIN). Entela holds a HBSc from University of Toronto, and a Clinical Research Post Graduate Certificate from Humber College. Read Full Bio Here 

Lediona Nishani

An accomplished data scientist at Klick Health with a bold vision of how AI and machine learning algorithms can positively impact a growing number of industries, particularly in health care. At Klick, Lediona’s work is focused primarily on Information Extraction in the clinical domain using NLP techniques to extract information from clinical texts. Read Full Bio Here

Leonora Abdullahu

A Chemistry PhD student at McGill University, Leonora’s research focuses on the design and synthesis of nucleic acid therapeutics towards the treatment of genetic diseases. She is a teaching assistant at McGill University of the advanced Organic Chemistry undergraduate courses, as well as a board member of the Albanian Society of Hamilton, since 2012.
