This event will feature a moderated panel discussion between professionals and leaders in financial services and marketing, themed as “How to chart your career path and succeed in the financial and marketing industry”.

Meet the Panelists

Zamira Aliko

Vice President, M&A

Zamira is a Vice President in EY’s Lead Advisory Group with over 10 years of corporate finance experience. As a member of the M&A team, Zamira provides transaction advisory services to private mid-market clients on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital-raising activities and corporate strategy. Prior to joining the M&A team in Toronto, Zamira worked at the EY office in Charlotte in the capital raising practice and prior to that she worked in the EY valuation practice in Detroit Michigan.

Isli Gedeshi

Manager, BI and Product Data

For over 15 years, Isli’s focus has been on digital marketing and e-commerce. He started his passion for digital marketing at the age of 16 where he taught himself various prominent programming languages. He became an expert in this field and consulted for various startups and companies.

Concurrently, he started learning about data and customer behaviour in the e-commerce space. He now tackles a wide variety of subjects including customer acquisition, customer retention, upper funnel measurement, and segmentation.  He currently leads a large team of analysts at Allstate Insurance and previous to that has consulted and worked in senior capacity for major corporations such as Bell, Rogers, and YellowPages.

Isli has a deep passion to help data find its voice through storytelling and helping people understand how stories can be used to make impactful decisions.

Mimoza Jakimi

The business of Simplyitickets was formed in 2010 by Mimoza Jakimi to fulfill the need for a specialist ticketing company focused on delivering a full service in the Canadian  travel industry trade, group organizers and direct consumers.

Simplyitickets is an authorized Ticket Company for the world’s great Entertainment including New York’s Broadway, Las Vegas, Toronto, London’s West End shows, Concerts, Sports, Attractions, Sightseeing and many other international entertainment venues.

Redina Papadhopulli

Vice President, Corporate Security

Redina Papadhopulli graduated from the University of Tirana with a Diploma in Business Administration and Economics 1996. Worked for a few years for the World Trade Organization and in 2000 moved to Canada with her husband and daughter. Redina joined Scotiabank in 2002 and has held progressively senior roles in Canadian Retail Banking, Small Business Banking, Branch Services Operations, Global Risk Management, and Structural Cost Transformation.  In April 2018, Redina was appointed Vice President, Corporate Security. She also volunteers with the Kids Help Line. Redina’s work philosophy is “There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs”.

She holds the Certified Financial Consultant Designation and Lean Six Sigma Certification.

Arben Papajorgji

Senior Director, Funding and Liquidity Management

Arben has over 20 years of extensive Financial and Management experience in Capital Markets. He graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Economics, at the University of Tirana and started his professional career as a trader, with the Foreign Relation Department of Central Bank of Albania. In 1994 he joined the Italian Albanian Bank, the first private bank in Albania, as the Head of the Treasury Department. In 1998 he arrived in Canada with his family and joined TD Securities. He progressed in his career reaching senior management roles within TD Securities in different areas of the Operations, Middle Office and Treasury department. After a 16 year successful career with TD, in 2014 he joined CIBC in the role of Senior Director of Liquidity Risk and Funding  Management, Treasury department.

During these years in Canada, Mr. Papajorgji has strongly supported the Albanian community by recommending, hiring, coaching and mentoring, newcomers or young Albanians graduated in Canada. He is married to Nevila Papajorgji and has 2 sons, Tedi and Matteo.

Loren Rita

Director, Institutional & Retail Credit

Loren is an innovative leader with over 10 years of experience in the financial industry, in roles spanning Wealth Management Operations, Capital Markets Operations, as well as Technology & Operations. He took on his first leadership role in Wealth Management Operations at RBC where he led a strategic and cultural shift within Trade Support Operations, transforming the department from manual trade execution to automated trading, shifting into a fully digital environment.

After a quick stop in Technology and Operations at RBC, where he led the Strategic Initiatives team in horizontal integration across Innovation & Technology, Loren took on his current role as Director, Institutional and Retail Credit at CIBC. With a client-first focus and a continuous improvement mindset, Loren has found his greatest success in hiring and developing top talent. In addition, Loren is also a strong supporter and has taken leadership roles in multiple charitable causes, including RBC Run for Kids, United Way, Women United, JDRF, Rexall OneWalk, as well as CIBC Run for the Cure.

Loren holds an Honours B.A. in Financial and Business Economics from York University.

Miri Hysi

Product Manager, Student & Investment Lines of Credit

Miri is a rising young leader who has spent over 7 years in the financial industry. Miri’s tenure with the TD Bank has given him opportunities to work within: Personal Savings & Investing, Emerging Payments & Innovation, Ventures, Treasury & Balance Sheet Management and Retail Banking. Miri’s career highlight includes launching an instant -to-person mobile person for TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank; and assessing, finding and leading a strategic investment with an American transfer based FinTech on behalf of the TD Innovation Fund.
Miri holds a degree from Ryerson University and is a part of the Ryerson Finance Mentorship program and sits on the Ted Rogers Students Society Board as an Honorary Advisor. Through various moustaches, bike rides and fundraising initiatives he supports Movember, Bike for Tykes, JDRF and United Way throughout the year.
